We will miss Yoda – our store cat

Sad news this morning to report.

Yoda, our store cat who lives up the street and who has graced us with his presence since the first day we opened was accidentally hit and killed by a car yesterday morning outside his home.

We all loved Yoda and the many visitors to our store always took pictures of him and sent him around the world.

He loved to come in and sleep on the comfiest piece of furniture we had in the store and was always the sweetest and friendliest little cat.

We will miss him terribly.

Our last photo of Yoda on August 20th. We will miss you!

Whether you’re designing décor for a special dinner party, looking for tips on how to create a romantic setting or a fun family table, Monica has lots of advice to offer. Talk on Willliam Morris -today!

Today, as part of the week-long Arts Unleashed! festival, I will be giving a talk on William Morris, the founder of the British Arts and Crafts movement.

Morris believed in art in everyday life and beauty in useful objects.

I’ll talk about his life and have lots of books and show and tell on hand.

The talk will begin at 3 pm.

Beautiful sofa-beautiful new home

The sofa looked good in our store, but it has found its perfect home now with Mark and his lovely wife and children.

And the amazing LaBarge coffee table went from here to there as well!

Thanks for allowing us to post the photos!

Hale dinette set-finished!

I locked Jane in the sewing room today and did not let her out until she had finished covering the four seats for the Hale dinette set! (I did bring her cups of tea and cookies).

Lovely solid maple set with fold-out leaf and 4 newly-upholstered chairs.

The fabric is a modern crewel on linen and is very tough.

It is now ready for a new home!

PS: August 13th:

SOLD to the first client this morning!
