Almost there!

Today, Rob Baker and Jason Doiron from Royson’s will finish the new floor in our store.

We’re so pleased….

Just the toilet to go back in 🙂

Just finishing off.

Out with the old…

…and in with the new.

This is the last of the old tile floor to be covered. No regrets.

The new floor is almost finished and is going to be beautiful.
To-day I painted the quarter round which will be attached once the floor is in.
Thankfully, a lot less dust to-day!

So what are we using ? It’s called Orka vinyl plank floating floor. A tough click floor.

In a cloud of dust

Rob and Jason have just about removed all the red tile from the main part of the floor.

These pictures show you just how much dust there is in the air.

There will be a lot of washing of walls and windows to be done…

No more tiles but lots of dust!

A spring facelift for MNH!

…or rather a floorlift… and no it’s not spring yet. It’s actually snowing today.

However, we are getting an exciting new look!

One day last August, out of the blue, Jane and I noticed a heave of tiles at the back of the store. We covered it with a carpet and went on with our season.

Once the store closed, it became apparent that the tiles were no longer sticking to the cement slab in many parts of the store and that the whole floor would have to be replaced.

So I have been emptying out the store since Christmas and to-day Jason and Rob from Royson’s Flooring arrived to begin the task of taking up the old tiles and preparing the floor for its “lift”.

Stay tuned for more in-progress photos!

And the work begins by taking up the old tile. By hand and with the jackhammer!
